De La Soul's Stakes is High is an amazing album. I can't stop listening to it. The only album that beats it out on the rotation recently is a terrible dub of the Medusa and Feline Science EP that's impossible to find anywhere except from Abi who won't lend the original CD to me. Grr.
Speaking of hip-hop, I took an hour bus ride to see Aesop Rock at the Aladdin yesterday. My fears of it being sold out proved true.. Shit, Nate, what were you thinking? Aesop's been getting a lot of press, and for good reason. Tho I don't know what to think of his latest album, Bazooka Tooth. I like his intent, but it's difficult to listen to, which seems to be the general consensus. His older LPs, Appleseed, Float, and Labor Days are all excellent, however.
The new Shrike website is now live. It's my first CSS design and is completely rewritten from the ground up with custom code. I'm working on a much-needed redesign for Microcosm Publishing and Shrike ended up being the test subject. The new shrike.org is by far the best site I've done as far as the under-the-hood mechanics go: it's actually done *right* from the ground up. Jeremy's working on a new version of Shrike3 w/ some new essays, and I'll probably do some art for it.
I've been volunteering at Reading Frenzy, a "small press emporium" downtown. It's a great little store, chock full of amazing comix, magazines and books, as well as all sorts of local handmade & cute japanese fooferaw. Hint: perhaps you should stop in on your *kaff* christmas shopping.
Urges for a girlfriend have overcome my common sense lately. It must be really cold out. Either that or 2 F'IN YEARS of singlehood is beginning to frighten my 28-yo self. 26? single. 27? single. I'm afraid I'll have to wean myself off this stranglehold addiction to constant productivity.

gawd where do you people come from? it's like some cycle brainfag goes through every few months where i get a wave of either script kiddies or just irritating folk who post junk.. over the last two years it's gotten to be quite boring.
and, like the faux nate posted above, makes me want to eradicate the section entirely where any old shmoe is afforded the opportunity to take his digital crap.
